Scribix for Claude
The Scribix connector lets Claude work with the videos in your Scribix account. Ask Claude to find the moments worth sharing in a long video, adjust where each clip starts and ends, preview clips right in the conversation, and prepare posts for your connected social accounts. Scribix cuts, reframes and captions your own footage; it does not generate new video, images or audio.
Requirements
- A Scribix account (sign in with Google). Clip exports and Scribix AI suggestions use the same allowances as your Scribix plan.
- Claude on the web, Claude Desktop, the Claude mobile apps, or Claude Code.
- To prepare posts, connect your social accounts on Scribix first. Claude can only prepare drafts; you always publish them yourself on Scribix.
Connect Scribix
Claude web and Desktop: open Settings → Connectors, find Scribix in the directory and select Connect. If you are adding it as a custom connector instead, use the server URL https://scribix.io/api/mcp. Sign in to Scribix and approve access on the consent screen. Connectors you add on the web also appear in the Claude mobile apps.
Claude Code: run claude mcp add --transport http scribix https://scribix.io/api/mcp, then use /mcp to sign in. Claude Code shows results as text instead of the in-conversation preview.
Connecting uses OAuth. Claude receives a one-hour access token and a rotating refresh token; it never receives your password or Scribix website session.
What you can ask
- “Show my Scribix projects.”
- “Import this video from my Google Drive and find the best clips: <link>”
- “Find three 30–60 second clips about the main lesson in my latest video.”
- “Make the first clip start one sentence later.”
- “Render the best clip and show me a preview.”
- “Write a YouTube post for this clip.”
Imports accept Google Drive files shared with “Anyone with the link”, Dropbox share links and direct file links to videos you own. Scribix does not download from YouTube or other streaming sites. To upload a file from your device, ask Claude for the Scribix upload page.
Tools
Read-only tools never change your account. Claude asks for your approval before using a tool that creates or changes something in Scribix, unless you choose to always allow it. None of the tools delete data or publish posts.
Read-only
list_projects: Lists your video projects with duration, transcript status and clip count.get_transcript: Reads a project's transcript, with timestamps, so Claude can find moments.list_clips: Lists a project's clips and their current start and end times.get_render_status: Checks whether a clip's MP4 is ready and returns a short-lived link.show_clip_preview: Shows a playable clip preview inside the conversation.get_upload_link: Returns the Scribix page where you can upload a video from your device.list_social_accounts: Lists the social accounts you connected in Scribix.get_publish_status: Checks whether a prepared post was published from Scribix.
Create and change
import_video: Imports your own video from a Google Drive or Dropbox share link, or a direct file link, into a new project.create_clip: Creates a clip from a time range in the transcript.update_clip: Changes where a clip starts and ends.suggest_clips: Asks Scribix to rank the strongest moments in a transcript as clip candidates.render_clip: Exports a clip as a vertical MP4 cut from your original video, with captions.prepare_post: Prepares a social post draft that you review and publish on Scribix.
Clip preview
After a clip is rendered, Claude can show it in a preview card. You can play the clip, nudge its start or end by a sentence, and open the project on Scribix to edit captions, framing and branding.
Privacy and data
Claude accesses Scribix only when you ask it to use Scribix. Scribix does not read your Claude chat history, memory or other files, and post drafts expire 24 hours after they are prepared. Information Scribix returns to Claude is handled by Anthropic under its privacy policy. See the Scribix privacy policy for what is collected, how long it is kept, and which processors are used.
Disconnect
Remove the connector in Claude, or disconnect Claude from your Scribix account page, which revokes its tokens immediately. Your projects and clips stay in Scribix.
Troubleshooting
- Claude asks you to sign in again:the connection was revoked or expired after 30 days without use. Reconnect from Claude's connector settings.
- An import fails:check that the file is a video you own and that the share link is set to “Anyone with the link”.
- A render or suggestion is refused:your plan's allowance for the period may be used up. Check usage on your billing page.
